An agreeable dance outfit with ties to industrial medicine, techno, and funk plus an equally appreciable pop gumption, Information Society stumble the dance clubs and later the charts with their infectious breakout individual, 1988's "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)." The group, a quartette formed in Minneapolis by James Cassidy, Paul Robb, Kurt Harland (aka Kurt Valaquen), and Amanda Kramer, signed to Tommy Boy Records a few age later and recorded a self-titled debut album. The individual "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)," propelled by a Leonard Nimoy sample and Valaquen's smooth, assured vocals, became a club strike and eventually landed at numeral tierce in the pop charts. Later that year, "Walking Away" stumble the Top Ten as well, and the album reached gold-certified position. Kramer left shortly later on, nevertheless, to record with the Golden Palominos, 10,000 Maniacs, and as well on her have. Information Society's sophomore album, like to not-so-famous follow-ups by dance-popsters EMF and Jesus Jones, was more than competent merely mostly neglected by critics world Health Organization had pegged them as one-hit wonders. Several singles managed shallow chart exposure, just after the third record album (1994's Pacification & Love, Inc.), both Robb and Cassidy exited. Harland continued on, releasing the industrial-tinged Don't Be Afraid for Cleopatra Records in 1997.

Sag To Get Last Best And Final Offer
The major film studios and TV networks are planning to make the Screen Actors Guild
"a last, best and final offer" as early as next week, Daily Variety reported
today (Friday), citing no sources. If the guild refuses to accept it or does not
back off from demands for higher DVD and Internet residuals than those agreed to by
the DGA, WGA and AFTRA, production will halt at the end of June, the expiration of
the current agreement, the trade publication said. Such a situation would inevitably
result in delaying the start of the fall TV season, industry observers noted, a situation
that has not occurred since the writers' strike of 1988.
